Craft Beer: Brewery Touring App for the Pros

in beer •  7 years ago  (edited)

If you are a craft beer fan, I implore you to download the HopPlotter app. It will change the way you experience breweries forever. It will make traveling and road trips so much more fun, and probably drive the non-craft beer drinkers with you crazy. You can find all the breweries around you instantly at your fingertips, and often can find ones you never knew existed.

You simply open the app and it will display your location, then offer to search around you for nearby breweries. You can zoom in and out as well to change the search radius. You do not need to search where you are the moment, but go to any global location and search there.

Click on one of the brewery icons that comes up, and it will tell you the name of the brewery located there. It features highly detailed information like the hours and location, and even what’s on tap with descriptions! and ratings! Perfect for when you are on the road and want to make a pit stop to break up the long drive. Ideal for planning a route when brew-touring the area.

HopPlotter is not just for the U.S., you can search any place you like. I went over to Kazakhstan and found a brewery there. While there does seem to be less entries in certain areas, it is amazing to be able to find breweries no matter where you are in the world.

Cheers everyone. If you love reading about craft beer I regularly post and would appreciate your follow!

Sweet, did not know this app existed!

Are you based out of the Illinois area? I love Lagunitas!

Yessir. I really liked that they made a locale here in Chicago. The brewery itself is awesome, have you visited yet? it reminds me of being in Willy Wonka's Chocolate factory, t's a giant operation! I really like their Waldo 420 ale when it comes out each year, and their Imperial Stout Bomber for $4 is such a steal.

No I haven't. I'm from Vermont, but I travel when I can, so next time I'm in the area I'll make sure to make a trip of it.

In high school I collected bottle caps for really no reason, and I discovered Lagunitas for the dog on the cap. As I matured and my taste for beer matured as well, I started to really appreciate Lagunitas!

Yea, I really love their vibe. They are a large brewer, but really chill. Run by a bunch of stoners with a strong passion for beer. None of their beers are ever pretentious, they just bring outstanding flavors and make them accessible to everyone. Much respect.

Ever make your way over to Hill Farmstead in VT? Very different from Lagunitas but they had been voted #1 brewery in the world a few times. Just really tasty stuff, so happy to try some when someone brings some over.

I'm young and fairly broke, so I usually stick to pretty cheap beer. When I decide to get nicer beer, it's always theirs, because it's really affordable for how amazing it is, and I really appreciate that.

I've never been there, it's a drive from me, but I've had their beers and I'm pretty sure the last restaurant I worked in served a few of their beers on tap. I definitely know the name though, and upon googling them recognized their cans and have definitely had them. High priority around here.

I'm close to Burlington, VT(I lived there most of my life actually, I just moved out of town around 6 months ago) and there's a huge hipster beer scene there. It's pretty funny, but it does bring in a lot of amazing drinks.

Looking forward to seeing more reviews from you!

Just remembered, The Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout was recently released. I wrote a a small post on it. I would definitely look into grabbing one , the bang for you buck is huge. Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout
