1.Encarnacion
On December 2011 the Costanera Avenue was inaugurated and with it three beaches were opened to the public. These three beaches were the Mbói Ka’e Beach, the Pacu Cuá Beach, and the San José Beach. From the three beaches the San José Beach is the most visited by tourists and has several restaurants at the tourists disposal.
Furthermore, another very big touristic attraction is the annually celebrated Carnaval Encarnaceno, usually in February. This event attracts more than 100,000 people every year and marks the summer high season in tourism for the city. Different clubs will compete against each other on a parade in which they will be qualified by a group of judges under the following criteria: originality, design, charisma, dance, rhythm, beauty, and elegance.
- Ypacarai Lake
Ypacarai is a relatively shallow lake, boats and small ships can navigate it without inconvenience. The lake is surrounded by cities with facilities necessary for tourists and other visitors. Beaches are open to the public, and they are very popular during summer, especially in San Bernardino.
Cities surrounding the lake offer a great variety of gastronomic styles, including both fast food and traditional dishes. Fruit salads, pastries, chipas, and empanadas are some of the options.
The lake became widely known because of the song “Memories of Ypacarai”, written by Demetrio Ortiz. It is one of Paraguay's two main lakes and the site of many leisure activities. During summertime, locals and tourists enjoy its beaches and the great landscape.
- Eco Reserva Mbatoví
There are many local bird species as well as a variety of reptiles and mammals such as the agouti paca, acutí sayju, aguara'í, tapití and different species of armadillos.
The value of the reserve rests mainly in its beauty, accessibility and diversity of ecosystems available to study in a small area. There is an excellent panoramic view: It is possible to see the Cerro Santo Tomas, el Cerro Hu and the Cerro Pero to the south, and towards the east, the Valley of Pirayu and the Cerro Mbatovi.
The area has unpolluted streams with various dams, where you can find Chachi, a very rare species of fern in danger of extinction, as well as many different types of plants such as maiden's hair, lichens, cactus and wild orchids, Small natural caves make the environment extremely peaceful.
On the side of the streams are deep forests with mature trees and much natural regeneration. There are more than a hundred native species present.
The eco reserva offers highly qualified instructors and guides and a secure environment for the study of nature.
Cerro Cora National Park
Cerro Cora National Park covers an area of 12.038 ha. Besides pristine beautiful landscape this Paraguayan national park is famous for ancient rock art that is found in the caves. These paintings date back to 1300- 800 BC. The park has fairly good infrastructure. To get to Cerro Cora you will need to travel to a city of Pedro Juan Caballero and travel for 45 km South to the northern entrance to the park. Then you should take route III until you reach Road 5 (Ruta 5) that runs through the national park. It has marked trails that usually well maintained. It has a visitor center and auditorium. You might want to check with the local park workers to get any necessary information pertaining the park at your particular time of the year.Saltos del Monday

In Presidente Franco District, nature gives the region a show over the waters, the imposing Monday Falls, form a remarkable natural spectacle that has a long history, it was one of the stations in the path of the pre-Hispanic Guarani.
The waterfall is more than 40 meters high and consists of three main falls with other minors who rushed up near the mouth of the River Monday, one of the major tributaries of the right bank of the Parana River.
It is a beautiful spectacle that foams with their yellow and white steam caused by the impact of water with rocks and bushes that surround the vast depression Monday River can be viewed from a system of walkways and viewpoints in a beautiful and well cared Natural Park. The park is used by tourists in the region for picnics, hikes and camps, trails in the midst of vegetation take visitors up viewpoints and walkways where you can contemplate the depression 40 meters from the river.
