Is steemit a lotto?

NO!

But I don't know what it is, either. We've all been over the "is it a lotto" thing-- it's not. That doesn't mean the steem-conomy makes sense.

Non-working concept:

Functional and only lacking steem integration:

It's probably notable that I basically threatened to ragequit steemit in my post. But I'm going to look at this differently from most, I think.

Developers are the LAST people you want ragequitting if this site is to be fully successful.

We've made good progress in the past day. I'll not be ragequitting. I do ask, however, that the community consider that there's a serious communication issue between 3rd party steem devs and the core team. Steemit needs to pull out all the stops to ensure that devs have no reason to leave the platform, since software development is the easiest way to grow the userbase and functionality of steemit.com.

Please note!

  • @furion is a pal of mine. I did not make this post to ninny about unfairness. It's fair because he earned more upvotes, that's the bottom line here.
  • This project is surely the direct descendant of some conversations he and I had.... not to mention several great open source projects.
  • I am trying to get money. Money keeps me fed, and ensures that the keystrokes keep flowing.

I'd love to work on the video problem, but I'm stuck. I need help. There is clearly a market demand for a solution in the space, yet I have no solution. No workable plan. I've been thinking about this problem for months. @faddat Feel free to ping me and talk to me.

So what are your thoughts on sunny Cambodia?

IIRC you don't do google hangouts. I'll admit to the bad practice of doing most of my conversations using it. Is there an XMPP address I can reach you at?

not sure if, but i do notice one difference. the tags...
I was unaware of this post until just now so I will go and promote it. I will say though that the steemconomy makes perfect sense if you look at it as a system that gives you back what you put in, but that the only way to "cheat" and take a shortcut to "riches" is to buy a bunch of steempower. Otherwise you have to make those with it happy for money.

I think it is a fair way of doing things honestly. I could be wrong at extremely large scale but with the stuff we are doing i doubt it.

As far as the part where we want to make it easier for devs. I really wish you would have led with that. Prob would have paid out more too.
