He who blesses his neighbor with a loud voice early in the morning, It will be counted as a curse to him [for it will either be annoying or his purpose will be suspect]. - Proverbs 27:14 (AMP)

Good and bad are two different ideas, but which sometimes can be easily confused for each other, depending on how it is done. For a good move to be received as good, it has to be done the right way, or the way that pleases the recipient. When a good thing is done in the wrong way, the whole act can easily be perceived as bad or wrong.

Good intentions need to be communicated using the right techniques and approach, else, it will be considered as irritating or abusive. Imagine you being in the middle of lunch with top business executives of multinational companies and your very good friend from high school sees you from afar and begins to shout your name and greet you loudly from afar. You do not dislike the person, and he greeting you is a very good move, especially since you've lost touch for a long time. However, how he has gone about it is wrong.

Consider another angle to this. According to the scriptures, Cain and Abel offered burnt offerings to God. This is a commendable act; an act of worship that pleases both God and man. However, Cain gave without the right motive and without the understanding of the essence of offering the sacrifice. That is why his offering was rejected and Abel's own was accepted because he understood the principle of giving and he walked in the confines of that principle. This is why when offering someone a gift, understanding the purpose of the gift will guide you to making a choice of what to offer and how to go about it.

Wisdom does not only teach you to do good; it also teaches you to do it right.

He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him. - Proverbs 27:14 (KJV)
