In his letter to the Ephesians, the apostle Paul teaches us the duties towards our neighbor:
"Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we all are members of one body", Ephesians 4:25
Truth and falsehood, are before good and evil. Thomas Aquinas, father of the scholastic philosophy, explains to us that to know if something is good or bad, we have to know it first and this refers to truth and falsehood. It is important to emphasize something, that between good and evil there is an intermediate state dominated by emotions; but between truth and falsehood there is nothing in between, something is false or true, it is a dilemma

This is so because good and evil belong to the same gender, the gender of the elections. But falsehood belongs to the genre of "not being" and truth to the genre of "being". In order to find an intermediate state, the opposites must belong to the same gender.
Truth edifies and liberates, lies divide and destroy, we have to choose between living according to the spirit or living according to the flesh.
How do we recognize truth and falsehood in practice? The truth is the precise and the exact ("I am the way, the truth and the life", John 14:6). Practicing falsehood instead is practicing error. The hit and the error are basics choices, we sin or we live righteously. Two mentalities, two paths, two retributions.
A fruit of truth is unity ("for we are all members of one body"), explain the bible. And when we speak of unity we speak of concord and communion. Concord is a form of friendship like mercy and justice. Concord is political friendship, explains Aristoteles, the friendship of people insofar as they are members of the same community. Communion instead is the life in common, the ethical order of the society. Communion is how God wants men to live.
Jesus remember to us: "the kingdom of God is among you" (Luke 17:21). Communion is the true spiritual goal of man and the clearest manifestation of the kingdom of god among men.
Paul concludes the teaching with a warning: "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:31-32.
