"Tucker Carlson Is Very Worried About Biden’s ‘War on White Supremacists"
Here's the thing...and I know that people are going to hate this... Carlson is about 90% right here when you take him in full context.
The questions, "What do you mean by 'war'?" and, "What exactly do you mean by 'white supremacist'?" are shockingly and depressingly relevant.
If you're talking about a war of ideas against the likes of Richard Spencer and John Metzger, of course, no brainer, that's a war that's more than worth fighting.
It's great to give people benefit of the doubt; but, you also have to have your finger on society's pulse from time to time.
I've never in my life seen more advocacy for actual political violence on the left. I'm used to fringe right-wingers still having boners for Hitler. I've been seeing it since I was a teenager. I'm not used to having people on my friend list celebrating a man for kicking a woman in the face because she was pro-life. I'm not used to seeing people on my friend list fight fastidiously to defend violence in response to a justifiable police shooting. I'm not used to people on my friend list brushing off a man pepper spraying a woman for wearing a Make Bitcoin Great Again hat.
You can't take an honest assessment of the world that we're living in and not see that words like "racist" and "bigot" are being used more as tactics than they are being used as actual descriptions. It's not insane to ask for somebody calling for this sort of war to specifically define and identify the entity. We're living in a world where sociology professors are calling people of color white supremacists if they voted for Trump. I'm not making this up; it was in the Washington Post last week.
I don't like Tucker Carlson; but, again, nobody has to lie about him to show that he's kinda an ass hat. When he stumbles on something that's kinda right, you don't need to twist it into something gross.
