It’s incredible to me that the US federal government has learned NOTHING from the 60+ year failed embargo of Cuba.
Let’s say the US bans tech transfers of lasers to China.
Well, US sells EVERYTHING to Israel, and Israel’s lobby insures Israel can do whatever it wants.
So Israeli companies can simply buy from the US, massively increase the price, and sell to China.
Same for UK, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Australia, etc. They can and will simply sell to China.
