Good day Steemians! With the rapid rise of cryptocurrencies, often it is necessary to download and sync a core wallet. This can sometimes be very frustrating, as it seems to connect to one for a second and then disconnects, without ever syncing the block chain. This is because the wallet is searching for ip addresses that are full nodes of the wallet you are trying to sync.

This means either you will need to wait until every ip is checked (not recommended), or you tell your wallet what ip addresses are full nodes. This is done by searching google for the following text "bitcoin node list" replacing bitcoin with your favorite cryptocurrency. The ip addresses are added by typing: addnode=[ipaddress]. This goes into a file called "bitcoin.config" search google and use it as a template to add the proper ip addresses, and rename it to the coin name, i.e. digibyte.config, dogecoin.config, etc. The .config file is placed in a folder called roaming (on windows). To get there click start and search your computer for "%appdata%", and locate your wallet's folder, and place the .config file in this folder.

When you start the wallet it should connect to the nodes after a few moments, and begin syncing your wallet.
