Bitcoin's influence on total Crypto market capitalization has gone down from 80% to 40% over the past year. And new exciting projects on next generation blockchain technology are taking hold. Cardano, Icon, Aion, Neo and many others are following the footsteps of Ethereum. Hence even if Bitcoin is compromised as you say, it will have less influence on the Crypto habitat as years go by.
