Some more pictures of the european kingfisher

in birdphotography •  4 years ago

Another lucky day for me. I was able to take several nice pictures of the European kingfisher again. It appeared at the same spot where I saw it already last week, and this time I was pretty lucky with the light situation and I really could get very close to this beautiful bird. Even though we didn't have a camouflage it didn't flew away when we came closer. Of course, we still had several meters distance to the bird but with a 600 mm lens this is no problem. I think the kingfisher is a very beautiful bird but since it is pretty shy it is usually very difficult to get some pictures of it.
