Hello Steemians
The white throated sparrow is found throughout
most of Canada, and the U.S.
Easily identified as the name a white throat, a black
eye line and a yellow lore (region between the eye
and nostril).
An interesting note, they will sometimes.....
breed with a dark eyed junco, the offspring are
grayish, and dull marked white-throated sparrows with
white outer tail feathers.
They are abundant but like most birds their...
population is down about 35% in the last 50 years.
I love their little tinge of yellow.

My family nicknamed them "the O Canada Bird" because their call started with the first 3 notes of O Canada, but their call is also regional so they won't all be like that.

We get all excited here in Western WA when we see one of these guys. We get White-crowned and Golden-crowned as our default Zonotrichia sparrows. Nice work as usual. Thanks.

Thanks, they are more easily spotted here in Winter, less foliage, and
they seem to use feeders more in Winter too. Summer I rarely see them.
