This Northern Shoveler was hanging out on a little island when I spotted it. I thought it was a female mallard, but upon closer inspection I noticed its huge bill! She was nice enough to give me a wing stretch and some preening, which is always nice to see :)
The lighting was not good as the sun was close to setting for the day, but I'm happy I captured this Norther Shoveler :) Last year was the first time I had ever seen a Norther Shoveler, and you have to look closely sometimes, because they spend a lot of time with their big bill in the water :)
You can hear some Wood Ducks in the background whistling and vocalizing :)
This video was captured at Beaver Lake in Stanley Park, Vancouver Canada.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the comment @harj!
I always try to zoom in as close as possible :) but sometimes it gets me into trouble, especially when the subject is moving ;) I now try get some good zoomed footage, and then try to get some less zoomed video to give some wider context :)
