Hi guys. now this is a little off my normal type of post, but I thought that you might be interested. As you know I am an avid hiker, and on one of my trek's I came across this.......
At first I didn't spot the bones, and then I realized that I had found an owl pellet. In all the hiking that I do, I have never found one of these before. I looked up some information about these and I will share with you what I found.

These pellets are formed 6-10 hours after a meal. They are more than just regurgitated bones and fir, these pellet's actually serves to scour the digestive track of these birds. In Ornithology a branch of Zoology these pellets are studied to determine the health of birds of prey. Its really amazing just what you can find in one of these pellets, Ornithologists have opened them up to find the leg bands from smaller birds in the pellet.
This is also a very good way for schools to educate children about birds of prey, but these pellets need to be sterilized as they carry viruses and bacteria. There have actually been two documented outbreaks of Salmonella in schools because of these pellets. This is why in nature rodents will also avoid these.

So there you have it , a little bit of Zoology ........ something I won't forget......

You sure it's not the work of bigfoot? 😁

Up here you can never be sure LOL :)

I don't think it would be bigfoot. Might be littlefoot, his child, though!
