Credo is a blockchain based spam and email access solution. In general you whitelist people who can email you. If someone is not on the whitelist, they get a reply:
- Request to be on the whitelist, which puts their email address on the recipient’s whitelist with a button to approve their membership.
- Enter a recipient-generated promo code that will allow the email to go through for free.
- Pay a small fee for the email to go through.
The whitelist (1) is not something new. The promo code (2) is interesting and maybe a feature that can be used creatively in business, and the fee (3), getting paid to receive an email is what probably opens people's eyes and think of a quick rich scheme. I'm not going to focus on the fee (3) because the vast majority of people will not make any money at all.
Does anyone want to change their email practice? Can anyone live without Gmail? Will your company decided to change their anti-spam software?
Anti-spam software is doing great already. I barely have spam at all right now. Maybe when someone brings down Gmail and Microsoft Exchange/Outlook we can re-visit this and decentralize anti spam. I doubt I will be changing my Gmail and Outlook habits anytime soon. Otherwise for now, I'm missing the big picture and going to pass on this ICO. Sorry everyone, I won't even get to the coin distribution plan.
