Ultimately it appears to be an amateurish false flag attack on bitcoin. But upon digging into the bitcoin addresses used in the attack, Vin discovers a more potentially much more nefarious attack on bitcoin.

Vin discovers that payments attached to the ransomware bitcoin wallets appear to be bots designed to spam the Bitcoin network. So not only is Bitcoin under attack in the MSM press by this so-called attack, but it's also under attack using the spamming technique shown in this video.
