During a bull market everyone is convinced that their new favorite altcoin is going to replace #Bitcoin. In a bear market Bitcoin shows them who's the boss. When Bitcoin goes down all the alts ask $BTC "How deep do you want us to go boss?" "To the Core". Alts always dump harder.
Bitcoin core still has a few good years left because of the name, but when it comes to actual use, ETH/BCH + DAG technology based coins are leaps and bounds ahead, alt trading pairs on exchanges will solve the alt dump issues, only a matter of time
Definitely not a cryptocurrency if people can't make fast/cheap transactions. correct, a software client is just that, software. There's many Bitcoin network compatible software clients, such as bcoin, libbitcoin, and others.
I bought a monitor yesterday with BTC, and I run my own Bitcoin node and LN node. I will gladly take any BTC off your hands.
Doesn't matter if Bitcoin is "boss" or whatever. If I invested in Bitcoin back in November I would be close to breaking even. If an alt goes up 50x and then down 80%, it's still beating BTC. It's highly probable that the correlation between alts and BTC is going down this year.
