Good News: Deloitte Netherlands to register lease contracts on Blockchain

The world-renowned professional services company Deloitte has experimented multiple times with blockchain technology, creating important development projects that so far seem to be viable and sustainable over time.

This time, the company announced that for the first time they will register leases on the blockchain. The project is being carried out jointly with the government authorities of the city of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, as well as with the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC), a company with global branches specialized in consulting for startups and innovation projects. This company is considered by Deloitte as "a channel for economic growth, employment and investments".

The application of the blockchain that will create will record leases of real estate belonging to the startups enrolled in the CIC network. This will facilitate the establishment and fulfillment of contracts acquired, in addition to managing them more efficiently and with full transparency and security.

Initially, different pilot programs will be launched as part of the Roadmap Next Economy, an initiative that includes the 23 municipal districts in the region between the city of Rotterdam and The Hague, a program in which these cities can assess their experience with blockchain technology And develop it together to different industrial sectors.

After developing various projects for wind energy production, massive data storage, improve the security measures digitally for the port industry, navigation and aviation; Creating several robotic development centers and integrating new technology into the medical field, will open the Field Lab for Blockchain, a space where specialists and regulators will meet to develop applications with Blockchain technology within the framework of this national plan.

Deloitte highlights in the announcement the faculties of the blockchain as a technology that has the potential to change many aspects of daily life and various industries, saying :

Innovative thinking by Deliotte here. When a large scale of major players start to enter it will be interesting to watch...

Kudos to Rotterdam for innovating. Fast-changing leases for startups seems like a great test case. If it works as advertised, because 'efficient and transparent management' is not a concept I associate with Deloitte. Look at their map of Agile methods.
