Your email yesterday about the government takeover of the internet was
designed as far back as 1992. Let me explain.
I attended an FCC meeting with radio engineers in Medford Oregon in
1993 where the keynote speaker (from the FCC) stating with much relish
that "soon there will be a time where all information i.e. tv, radio
and internet will come to a household on one wire. There will no longer
be radio or tv stations but "providers". Everything will go through the
justice department. We will let the private sector build it thenwe will
take it over."
At that time there was no youtube but just bulliten boards, dialup
modems, etc. The FCC's involvement and goal was/is to reduce the
transmissions by moving to digital thereby opening those frequencies up
to cell phone and other more profitable use for the FCC.
This has been in the works for a long time and it looks like a
manufactured crisis will give them the reason to take it over
