Question Suggestions for Upcoming Interview with Jimmy Song?

in bitcoin •  8 years ago

My question for Jimmy is this:
With all that's been going on the past few months can we please get back to the philosophy of what Bitcoin set out to be and do, "is the Satoshi vision being lost and wasn't the original thinking that little mining operations be spread out to maintain the purity of the blockchain to release us from the bondage of centralized everything"? Bitcoin is our gift to free us, if the blockchain can be corrupted this easily , without a fight then we should slip back into the prison cells of the Fed, IMF and central banks.

Sort Order:

"At first, most users would run network nodes, but as the
network grows beyond a certain point, it would be left more and more to
specialists with server farms of specialized hardware. A server farm would
only need to have one node on the network and the rest of the LAN connects with
that one node." -satoshi http://satoshi.nakamotoinstitute.org/emails/cryptography/2/

thank you for that reminder, but can Bitmain still be called just a server farm? Was that the intent? My thought is more to should the "server farms" have more control over direction than users (and core developers)? This debate brings to the forefront centralization of power versus the intended goals. do the "server farms" get to change code, set fee's and control the future direction?
