Blockstream announced today they are developing a satellite broadcast system for Bitcoin's blockchain to be available in every corner of the world via sattelite. No internet connection needed.

The signal will be free, but still you'll need a USD $100 satellite antenna and a USB reciever to be able to use Bitcoin. ANYWHERE!
This is really disruptive in the sense that for the first time Bitcoin will not depend on governments controlling internet access. Also it's a great solution for isolated communities that are offline or where internet access is too expensive.
