Ledger Nano S Unboxing (Hardware Wallet)

in bitcoin •  7 years ago

A bit late, but I finally got it - Ledger Nano S! This popular hardware wallet is designed to keep Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dash and other cryptocurrencies safe. The key feature is that the private key is stored permanently on the device and can't be accessed by hackers.

Those are so slick. Yes, I am seriously considering getting myself a Ledger Nano S . So I copied your affiliate link down on a notepad @boxmining.

Hey @boxmining what do you think about upcoming ICO's? anyone worth checking out? I am pretty anxious...
Thanks for awesome work with blog and youtube channel!

Pro tip: Activate the nano, write down keys.
Transfer small ammount of crypto.
Reset device.
Put in the seed wrote down.
Open wallet. If its still there your ok.
Now you are 100% sure that you have the correct seed and you know how to restore the seed so you dont panic if it breakes.

great advice!

Just got mine.
My Ledger Nano S took about a month to receive.
With exchange rate to Canadian cost me about $270.
I have not set it up yet, sitting in the box in front of me

wait what?! 270 Canadian? how is it that expensive?

35% markup on Canadian man?

But is it actally a hardware wallet or is it yust a hardware key to unlock your wallet app on computer?

Planning to buy 1 as well ..thanks for the insight @boxmining :)

Congrats on your Ledger Nano S! I learn a lot from your videos. I plan to keep my coins in separate wallets and prolly my BTC on my hardware wallet which is a Trezor. I'll get a Ledger Nano S too, eventually. I look forward to your instruction video on how to use the hardware wallet!

How much is this? and what coins can you put in it?

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Around 70 €

if think this is all of them
Bitcoin
Ethereum / Ethereum Classic ERC20 if you use myetherwallet with the nano
Ripple
Litecoin
Dogecoin
Dash
Zcash
Stratis
komodo

At what point is it worth putting your coins in a cold storage? I guess it will help keep your finger off the sell button.

I think the major factor is how much you have, and if you got burned from excanges before. (I have :/)

I think everyone has a limit of what they consider too risky. If you travel quite often, it can be even more helpful.

Mine is on order and was supposed to be shipped in early July; now late July. Big demand for these!

I'm still waiting for mine to be shipped @boxmining. Great video mate.

Congratulations on receiving your ledger nano s . Thank you for explaining and sharing with us the unboxing process. Now your crypto will be safe. Wish u all the best.

thanks so much practicaleric! will try using it but I'm a bit afraid of revealing my seed if I film it on camera.

I like my trezor the most. Probably because I'm old. 29 years.

Hi Boxmining, what has been your experience so far with the ledger HW wallet. Is it as good as it is advertised?
