With all of the hype around so many altcoins, I just wanted to post my viewpoint. It sure seems the the majority of altcoins that are rising are just due to speculation or pumps. Sure some may have some valid technology and there may be money to be made playing the pump and dump, but in the end, I really believe that Bitcoin and an extremely few (or couple) of others will reign supreme.
Once Bitcoin resolves the transaction speed and cost issues (which imho will be accomplished this year), then there will be no need for a large majority of altcoins. Bitcoin will rapidly become a usable currency and due to its popularity will be the world wide standard.
