I have a Master's Degree in IT with a focus of web design and database administration, so I decided to read about Bitcoin, blockchain and then create my own cryptocurrency token. I'd like to explain why I chose my 4 favorite cryptocurrencies and how you can get involved in the industry.
In ten years we'll buy houses with Bitcoin, cars with Litecoin and dinner with Dogecoin. Ethereum will still be used to create new tokens, transfer tokens to different addresses and create contracts between people. Ethereum isn't trying to be a national currency, just a platform that uses Ether as a currency.
- I chose all cryptocurrencies with dedicated blockchains independent of each of the others. For example, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Dogecoin each run different blockchains and are trying to be mainstream cryptocurrencies.
- I avoided anything that felt centralized because it directly conflicts with the origination of cryptocurrency. For example, Roger Ver runs BCH like a king and Brad Garlinghouse is the CEO of Ripple and owns 60% of the coins. All ETH tokens like my BELL token (EOS, TRON, OMG, BNB, etc) aren't mined cryptocurrencies, they are tokens. I dumped 1,000,000 BELL tokens into my Ethereum address with some programming code, no more will be mined, created or minted by anyone for any reason. I run it and own it. That's why I chose cryptocurrencies compared to choosing Tokens. Decentralization.
- Bitcoin will be mined until the year 2140. Satoshi Nakamoto didn't drop a bunch of bitcoins into his/her address to control and allocate them, he/she ran into the woods while the decentralized network grew on a level playing field.
- Ethereum is a platform that allows users (like me) to create tokens of their own, in which we can kind of dream that they are cryptocurrencies, but aren't quite. I have too much control over my BELL token until I evenly distribute them across hundreds of people, which is conflicting with decentralization. I own ETH because people (like me) will continue to create new tokens on the ETH blockchain which requires the use of ETH tokens to send them back and forth.
- Litecoin is also mined, and there will be 4 times as many Litecoins. Litecoin processes blocks every 2.5 minutes compared to Bitcoin every 10 minutes. So it's 4 times faster (Lighter) and will be used as such in the future.
- Dogecoin is mined like Bitcoin and Litecoin, but it processes blocks every 1 minute making it 2.5 times faster than Litecoin and 10 times faster than Bitcoin transactions. Part of building a cryptocurrency is creating demand and building a network of users, Dogecoin did that with a low priced coin, a friendly dog brand and a friendly community of people willing to help you and give back.
About BELL Token
- It's free. However, only 8,000 tokens will be released for free each month for 10 years. https://chrisbell.com/BELL-token.php Come get some free tokens! They will be the first 16,000 of 1,000,000 tokens in circulation.
- I want to create awareness of the top 4 cryptocurrencies.
- I want people to understand the difference between a cryptocurrency and a token.
- I want people to download a wallet with NO personal information (Address and Password)
- All BELL transactions happen on the Ethereum Blockchain here: https://etherscan.io/token/0xf071a4a5086a71af034ae895288da437e2722469
- I'm keeping the remaining 40,000 tokens
