Meanwhile Dutch Court States Bitcoin is 'Legitimate Transferrable Value'

in bitcoin •  7 years ago

So, in the meanwhile the Dutch court declared Bitcoin as 'legitimate transferrable value'. Good news! I'm proud of this tiny country ;-)

The court ruled in favour of a plaintiff who was owed 0.591 BTC, according to a court document published March 20 (in Dutch).

It seems that we're taking small steps towards regulation/legislation here. Although at the G20 nothing concrete was said...

I am curious how this will set a precedent for future cases and the recognition of Bitcoin and crypto in general as a currency or a separate asset class.

That's a great news! It's nice that Dutch Court came forward with this decision. It gives opportunity for other countries to reconsider and identify Bitcoin as an asset. 👍

Fantastic news! The good news does not seem to get as much press as the fud (womp-womp as @evileddy likes to call it) but that works.

I am okay with slow and steady progress because I feel I haven't amassed a legitimate portfolio yet. Thanks for reporting this!

It is small step into the good direction. I'm a truly believer of some kind of regulation for the cryptomarket. This would increase the trust of the non investors and would attract a lot of much needed extra fiat money.

Leuk zo'n uitspraak. Maar uiteindelijk heeft de schuld eiser nog steeds niets

Woww genial todos los países deberían tomar este ejemplo para que el bitcoin sea una moneda transferible legitima, gracias por el post :D

Good share @cryptotem
