So today's the day I decided to actually buy Bitcoin for the first time. Up until now I had owned no crypto-currency except the small amount of SBD that I see when I check my Steemit wallet. Unfortunately, this is still the case. No Bitcoin.
Not exactly sure if I was going about it the right way but I went to bitaddress.org and created a bitcoin wallet. As a noob this is entirely new to me and I figured that my first transaction may as well be a conversion of SBD into BTC. I thought I'd try my hand at simply familiarizing myself with the process. Earlier this week I had the same idea and registered with Coinbase but they have been screwing up the verification process of my credit/debit card everyday to the point that I threw my hands up and started looking for alternatives.
Maybe I chose the wrong day but today every exchange is reporting that they are overloaded with activity. All over the web people are complaining about ridiculously high fees for bitcoin transactions and being locked out. It's rough.
In the end I decided to just trade some SBD for Steem and call it a day. Today was not the day. My virgin bitcoin wallet remains empty but I guess I'll try Coinbase again later tonight. I just want some bitcoin dag-nabbit !!!!
