Trust me, this will go away soon (i hope). Ethereum and other cryptos that still use PoW are pushing hard to get away from it, because is simple doesnt make sense to use all this power. There are a lot more efficient consesus methods like PoS that will do the job not only with less energy consumption, but are a lot faster. The for front of figuring out the best consensu method is Tezos.
