F**kin' Millennials! - A Good old fashioned rant.

Baby boomers love to talk about us. They love to judge us. But their results speak louder than their words ever could.

Apparently, so I’m told, it was a mistake to travel the world and “have experiences”, rather than stash money away in the stock market. Apparently, so I’m told, it is a mistake to rent, rather than buying house.

“When you rent, you’re just throwing money away”

Yeah, that’s true. And property taxes, all the maintenance costs homeowners have to absorb, and the opportunity cost of being locked down to a single geographic region for years, maybe decades at a time, has a great ROI.

Allow me, if I may, to present a sales pitch on a very popular investment these days.

I have something I’d like to sell you. It costs several hundred thousand dollars, and consumes the best years of your life when you are in your prime. But don’t worry, I will lend you as much money as you need at a higher than normal interest rate.

I can’t tell you what the ROI will be, but just trust me. I promise it’s a good investment. It’s such a good investment that I think you should take all the risk and absorb all the costs personally. I know it was an order of magnitude cheaper when I bought the same thing, but nevermind all that. You don’t want to be a loser do you? Don’t you want to pay for things you can easily get for free, on your own time, at your own pace, and all without legally binding, unbreakable debt serfdom?

Nevermind the statistics that show most people never earn an actual return on this investment, and many people are completely hamstrung by the overwhelming debt burden. I already told you, IT’S A GOOD DEAL! So shut the f--k up and buy my s--t! Don’t ask questions! I’m older than you and so therefore I’m automatically right.

F--kin’ millennials…

Don’t you know anything?!

You can’t even start a proper war! Always trying to make friends and solve problems through cooperation and peaceful negotiation.

By the way, can you help me figure out this bitcoin thing?

This sounds like a rant. Then it sounds like sarcasm, then its sounds like a half truth. I'm so mixed up, I don't understand your style on what the point of this post really is... :(

then perhaps you're not the intended audience...

I'm millennial. Think has to do with telling us to do this certain way that may have worked for the past for others, but now we became more about flexibility, take risks, and trying out new markets. we are in the sharing economy and decentralizing revolution.

well said! Where are you from?

Los Angeles.
