So today marks a momentous day in the history of Bitcoin with the CME Officially starting to trade Bitcoin Futures to institutional investors.

Within minutes the price had jumped 7% or so and not long after the CME Website crashed from the massive volume.

So where does 2018 take us? In my opinion, 2018 is going to be the year of the blockchain in the mainstream. Obviously 2017 was the year that bitcoin erupted but the whole Blockchain industry is only just starting to emerge into the public's eye.

In one of the news articles today with the top 10 startups to watch for 2018, one was actually a blockchain company. It was of course Powerledger which I strongly believe will ave massive gains not just in monetary value but technology gains and the mass adoption of Blockchain.

In other recent similar news, the Australian Stock Exchange has just announced last week that its getting rid of its 1990's era CHESS ledger for the transfer of shares and is moving to a Blockchain solution. Australian banks are also implementing their own bastardized version of blockchain to allow for instantaneous money transfers between institutions.

2017 may have been the year of Bitcoin, but 2018 is going to be the year of the Blockchain in general.

Nothing but the truth that you mention here. The Blockchain is probably the most amazing invention since years and it will revolutionize the world one way or the other. Let´s just hope that it will as well lead to more decentralization and give the Power back to the people.

I'm pretty excited to see blockchain gain popularity. I'd like to see how much impact it will have

there is only one way bitcoin is going and thats up

Oh, I like what @steembusiness has to say about this subject. The Blockchain is a great invention and I'm hoping that our government won't be able to find a way to screw it up.
