What is the best way for a retail store to accept bitcoin?

Bitcoin seems to have been primarily focused on by investors looking to make money. For bitcoin to truly gain acceptance by the masses, it would have to be used more as a currency as opposed as an investment. What is the best option for a physical retail store to accept bitcoin and/or other cryptocurrency?
