Cryptocurrency Vs. Governments, Who Will Come Out Ahead?

Governments will surely use force and theft (taxation) to try and come out ahead... but the people will have 1000's of choices in cryptoland to always be 2 steps ahead of the gov't... Tough Call.

The government does very little for the citizens, we are their cash cow and they exist by tax extortion. All govt's are just a numbered corporation and their bond value is traded on exchanges just like our soical security number or sin number is given a value and traded on exchanges. The difference is that gov't's value is based on how much tax revenues they can extort form citizens, our value is based on earning and credit score. They derive their value because they can create the laws and enforce tax payment... without that ability, they are worth less. Of course, gov'ts are the worst run corporations in the world, when was the last time they were able to run a balanced budget and get out of debt, even with all the tax they take in they can't turn a profit. Private sector corporations are better managed and operate in a free market.

Hi @vinmaru, It would not be any easier for governments to go ahead of crypto currencies. A recent example is that of China's ban of BTC. Who lost?

For the most part governments are always 2 steps behind the private sector, and 3 steps behind the crypto space. With all the innovation that is coming from the crypto space, for the most part, they will be playing catch up to steal wealth.

Indeed people are always ahead,I remember a few days ago bitcoin was plummeting...next day Ethereum spiked and day after Litecoin and next Ripple and now Steem Dollars/Steem.

Yup, if they come after Bitcoin, just move to another token or platform. Gov'ts are slow moving, a person with a will and way can stay 2 steps ahead.

Crypto Currencies have had a great year, we are starting a whole new ear of decentralized control... they central banks and government won't like it and will try to fight it, but there is a Force here that is going to change the balance of power.

I feel like as cryptocurrency gain more and more awareness , it will be bad from the goernwmnets side . It gives them the reason to take more back on taxes and other ways from the general public . I mean awareness is good but not by bunch of greedy people

Turn over govern-cements... hmmmm

It will just make govern-cement and banking so costly in comparison, that they will either adapt, or fade into oblivion.

Further, the number one thing about block-chain is transparency. And so, we will be taking govern-cement and turning it over, exposing all of its corruption.

Governments for sure however this is a chance for people with little money to start tapping into big money and tilting the scales away from 1% of the people controlling a majority of the worlds money.

At the same time, imagine if corporations band together and form their own cryptocurrencies. A petro coin that could legitimately take on the US dollar is a wild thought. I think raw materials producers in many industries could gain substantial bargaining power if they formed currencies unions. That could shake up government control over currency substantially.

Some governments are embracing it. It remains to be seen how quantum computing will impact cryptocurrencies as they are coded today. If I were leading a government, I wouldn't be too public about blockchain research, but would definitely be putting resources into exploring and preparing for eventual adoption of the blockchain into national currencies.

i don't trust and adopt crypto if govt. start controlling the cryptos because then it becomes centralize and govt. start putting their shit laws on it just for their own sake, i am using cryptos because it's an open source and decentralize and it helps us to gain freedom to use our money and it also helps us to remove the third parties between our deals.

Even thought I think in some point in the no so near future all the money or trades will be managed in cryptocurrencies. There will have to be some compromised with respect to government.
How can the government function if they have no power over our finances?
on the other hand are we willing to close government and (I know it does a lot of bad thing) forget of all the good it provide us?

I doubt it. This is probably all we will get of a pull back. Bitcoin may break ATH tonight, and if it does, its off on another bull run. (there was just too much money coming in to really see a big dip.)

It seems the government is a bit scared of bitcoin, really more than a bit. Its going to be a wild year 2018. I dont think there will be any stopping this train, but I wouldnt put it out of site that government or "Powers that be" have something in mind. There is a lot of fear mongering going on about it crashing to nothing. I just dont see that happening. I think we have as much a chance of losing the internet as we do cryptocurrency. We always hear the fear put out there like they are gonna shut the internet down. I doubt "they" even can. Cryptocurrency does seem to be on a train of its own. decentralized and powerful

You can't shut down a cryptocurrency, like you can't shut down the internet. As long as there are nodes running, the blockchain remains online. You can criminalize it, but people will still access and use it.

This is true. Because of the value of the crypto currencies not government is overturned but everybody. Everyone wants to have atleast a piece or share of that currency. Take a look of its value for example bitcoins, its value is way very high than our normal currencies. I hope and I pray that these crypto currencies will not be abused by some or a group of people.

Nobody can stop crypto currency. crypto currency has a feature of decentralization instead of government centralization currency.

Cryptocurrencies will end up playing a huge role in taking away the foundations of power for governments. More importantly, blockchain and similar technologies will directly replace the governments of the world, by providing their services in a better way.

We're seeing the birth of the future here, and we're participating in it. We're a part of what will replace other social media sites. So glad for that, glad I discovered all this.
