Bitcoin Segwit2x has better tech? Programmer explains

in bitcoin •  7 years ago

Bitcoin Segwit2x hard fork is going to happen in November and many people ask me whether their tech is superior. I think we need to think a bit differently though. Coinbase shared news about how they are going to name the new coin. News from Coinbase are important as they are a huge player in the industry and the way the decide to name the new coin is important. Also, as we've mentioned on this channel before, whenever a Bitcoin hard fork happens there is a risk for Bitcoin replay attacks. This is true for any blockchain that forks,

Since the fork with bitcoin cash and the last fork happening Nov. 16th...which do you think is the real bitcoin?

Great video. Thanks for the information. I'm sure there will be a lot of confusion with the fork. Glad CoinBase is trying to reduce this issue.

Dropping the protection doesn't make me feel good. Thanks for explaining about how this affects the development team. I don't see a reason to change from a winning team. Thanks for the vids

Aye yai yai, Bitcoin is so forked

Mr Inval, I need your help please,I want to contact with you!

Can't upvote on this post. Maybe steemit code needs a good looking at Ivan!
Please do a video and look see into the problems here.
I feel users like the idea of steemit, and can't fully commit to a platform that has questionable code and distribution of power, and experiences long downtime and usability issues.
Was finally able to upvote! After more errors, o greif

Do you use Coinbase yourself?
Do you recommend it as 'the' exchange for new people in Bitcoin's world?

Not really related to this video but still ... Where did you start to learn about cryptocurrencies? By that I mean a "programming side" of cryptocurrencies. I am a computer sience student interested in cryptocurrencies but I do not know where to start.
Hope you will see this comment! :)

So you think this is a contest of control over future developments of bitcoin? Interesting. I would assume both BTC and B2X remain open source projects, where everybody can join in and contribute technically. Control over a currency isn't privy to the dev team, within Bitcoin there are 5 different groups who all extert specific extent of control. The development team is just one of those...

Great video!

he who controls the github repository controls the applications downloaded from it

Any Github repo can be cloned and forked. Open source projects are rarely defined by long term control by a single individual, I think you are overestimating what control Bitcoin core actually has.

Also, did you read the last statement of Coinbase:

"We are going to call the chain with the most accumulated difficulty Bitcoin"

When the block chain forks does the snapshot have to be of the entire block chain back to the beginning of time that coin began? If so, how long is the entire block chain ? How much space would the whole snapshot take?

If ya'll want a strong investment plan visit https://bitpetite.com/?aff=kipparinga (bitpetite) Its a bittumbler that privatizes btc transactions using other currencies. You as an investor get paid dividends from fees they charge people to use their service.

You can invest your BTC, ETH, LTC and or XMR into bitpetite for either;
6 weeks - 4.5% daily and 1 % on weekends. Total return - 147% (47%, 100% being your original investment)
9 weeks - 3.6% daily 1% on weekends. Total return - 180% (80%, 100% being your original investment)

They recently updated their server to allow almost instantaneous withdrawals - you get paid hourly through dividends and can withdraw on demand. (within the minimum amount which is less than 5 dollars)

I would deem it low - medium risk as of now -

Good luck and happy investing :)
