It's been 1 year since El Salvador made Bitcoin Legal Tender... how's it going?

El Salvador took a huge leap a year ago, how's the leap working out for them now?!

Rewind the clock exactly one year ago as of yesterday...

We had this headline:

Now that we've had a year we can see a few trends starting to emerge...

  • Bitcoin adoption by citizens isn't really picking up.

  • The price is too volatile for most people to use as a payment option.

  • Tourism is way up since the law passed.

  • El Salvador took in more than $100 million more in tourist revenue year over year.

This means that bitcoin may never really work as a form of payment, but as a money transfer service or as a way to store your wealth, it works pretty darn well.

Only when things are priced in satoshis will it work as a means of payment.
