I'm new to both cryptocurrency and Steemit, so a huge amount to take in this Saturday morning when I should be doing something else LOL

When I say "new" to crypto-currency, I will clarify to say that I have a tiny fraction of a BTC that was insignificant in value earlier this year, but has now grown to a value that is interesting enough for me to start learning more. (But so tiny that everyone can still speak to me for a looong long time!)

My friends and family largely react with shock that I actually own BTC. One otherwise very well-informed lady described BTC as "something that drug-dealers use to trade in, and unsafe because it wasn't tied to gold" LOL. Even with my limited knowledge I managed a half-way coherent rebuttal to both of those - and she's still speaking to me :-)

Fascinating article, especially the possibility of the governments secretly buying BTC! Loved the images too.
