Seems simple when you really think about it...
Maximum supply of US dollar isn't infinite, but very large number we are reaching sooner than later. This is like supply of some cryptocurrencies being pseudo-unlimited, capped by maximum representable value bounded by bit width of the variable holding the number of atomic units in wallet balance, either 64-bit or 256-bit signed integer.
For US dollar, one atomic unit equals one cent or 0.01 USD.
