Maximum supply of US dollar isn't infinite, but very large number we are reaching sooner than later. This is like supply of some cryptocurrencies being pseudo-unlimited, capped by maximum representable value bounded by bit width of the variable holding the number of atomic units in wallet balance, either 64-bit or 256-bit signed integer.

For US dollar, one atomic unit equals one cent or 0.01 USD.
