“It’s a bet. It’s a risk that I think is interesting and I’d be willing to take.”

Bill Harris the former CEO of Paypal recently called Bitcoin a scam and the truth is that until Bitcoin (or any current or future cryptocurrency) finds a way to become a mainstream payment option there will many who will try and punch holes in the phenomenon that became the success of a 3decade progressive development called cryptocurrency. Of course this is just a small part of it but if the scaling problems that bitcoin faced upon its almost magnanimous global adoption and investment interest didn't hinder growth and expansion where would we be today?

The great thing just as any part of technology usually is dependant on the genesis of other technologies like dual core processors or node.js with its asynchronous processing to seemlessly deploy and develop webapps.

Other startups will be learning from the successes and failures of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple and who knows 5years from now we might have forgotten all about bitcoin and one unified coin will emerge to cover all transactions online. And this is pertinent as Bitcoin was just the culmination of 30years of research, failures and small successes like CyberCash, HashCash, DigiCash and other templates platforms and ideas to successfully secure online transactions.

But back to the point, Paypal leadership and community have been vocal on Bitcoin but the truth is that what Satoshi Nakamoto launched was in great part a vision that Paypal was aiming to ascend upon.

But in the end this is a train that has garnered momentum, popularity and for some been a lucrative investment. And with blockchain technology being the centripetal point where the next economic revolution will take place from we will keep on showing interest.

Paypal feels their life hang in the balance and will have to include itself in the cryptocurrency realm as an intermediary and possible prinary platform to remain relevant.

Everyone is excited about BlockChain technology. Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey has tagged Bitcoin to be the future online currency.

As a developer and a BC enthusiast alike when you step into the world of ICO's and smart contracts and realize the implications of BlockChain technology with it's universal applicability then you begin to envision what the next decade will hodl.
