A forecast for the next decade and how the blockchain will change our daily lives with a closer look on Edge and education in general.
(Let’s have a look, how drastically education on the blockchain can change the world. This will have a light-hearted touch, so please do not take this as a forecast.)
Let´s give you an example out of the real world:
Joe is born in South Africa and goes to school here until he is 16. At age 14 it is clear, that his family will move to Russia within the next two years, so Joe starts to learn Russian by himself. He finishes courses on the internet that he gets credits for and is a fluent speaker after 2 years. Before he will settle down in his new home in St. Petersburg, he applies to a couple of schools there. He provides them his public key that not only shows his school grades, but also his courses, that he took outside of school. Without any further tests in Russia, he finds a new school that he attends until he graduated.
Joe loves to code and became really good at it. He has lots of work to show for this, although he never received any specific degree from a traditional college. Thanks to Edge, this does not longer matter, when he applies for jobs worldwide. He uses his profile on our platform and checks who is looking for jobs that fit his qualification. Apple, Samsung, LG and other big players in the tech industries are always looking for good, qualified workers. Because Joe loves Android, he only allows Samsung and LG in this case, to access his profile. While LG is not looking for the profile Joe provide, Samsung invites him to a job interview in Seoul. Within hours Joe found a job in another country. Neither Joe or Samsung had to pay for the process and no party had to spend a major amount of time in the process. Smart, fast and safe, that is blockchain education with real world use cases.
As this example already shows, Edge will basically hack education as we know it in 2017. Middle school, high school and college, but also online courses or further education that one does on the side of all this will be seen on your public key. With the complete academic history of yourself, that will be instantly translated into every language in every country, you will not only find the job you need, but more importantly, you will find the job of your dreams in any country on any continent without any bureaucratic borders that existed before Edge.
