Zclassic Chain Split Coming and AIrdrop for BTC Holders.

This is an interesting coin with not usual history.

First, it was a fork of Zcash ZEC, later they made a chain split on themselves called ZEN and now.. they are making BTCP aka Bitcoin Private out of ZCL.

ZCL will not be maintained by the current team but since its decentralized and working- will stay alive.

Worth to not that coin just dumped a lot - hence ive decided to make a post. I was thinking of skipping this info since it was in ATHs all time, but now its reachable.

Every owner of BTC and ZCL will get coins in 1:1 ratio by example: (1 ZCL = 1 BTCP.) (1 Bitcoin = 1 BTCP.) (1 ZCL & 0.5 BTC = 1.5 BTCP.)

Exchanges to honor fork ?

We only know of TradeToshi that nobody uses and HitBTC. Since Bittrex has ZCL ZEN and ZEC we can expect them to add BTCP but nothing is confirmed. I assume Cryptopia will add it also but may be delayed. CoinExchange has all anon coins or forks pretty much (DASH EXCL XZC XMRG etc) so id assume they gonna credit it fast.
Binance and KuCoin ofter add forks.

Have to be safe ?

Put BTC into Electrum and ZCL into Zclassic electrum - https://github.com/BTCP-community/electrum-zcl/releases
This way you can be 100% sure that you will have access to funds.

how do you get your BTCP if you hold bitcoin? I have mine in a trezor and won’t be moving it to gain this, nor providing my private keys. Is there another way?

I was hoping Bittrex would offer it, but I am unsure if they will since they haven't said anything yet publicly at least not to my knowledge. I do think electrum is the safest play to store it for the fork since you'll hold the priv keys at that point

Bittrex stated they would not support the fork, and also that IF they were to support a future fork they would state it officially in good time upfront.

So if you have your ZCL or BTC at Bittrex youu do not get any BTCP for them.

Bittrex is a hard sell on a lot of these. They really are quality nuts, despite any negativity out there, and put in a tremendous amount of work to make sure things run smoothly.

Interesting airdrop strategy. Apparently 1BTC = 1ZCL, which doesn’t quite add up. Curious how BTCP will fair from these humble beginnings :)

possible but doubtful unless the exchange said they would support the fork. generally it is not advisable to keep your coins on exchanges. do you transactions there and move the coins to their wallets.
also, no one should invest without understanding what the object of the investment is.

the exchange has to support the fork and one of the main reasons for the huge dump is bittrex hasn't confirmed. theres also some fud about the way they dealt with mining and giving low mining rewards

I got a ZCL wallet on my laptop that is not backed up, and the cpu fan died last weekend, just when I was going to move the coins over to my other wallet. Just hope nothing is corrupted, as the zcl windows wallet is the most unstable wallet I've tried ever.

I'm interested to see how BTCP does. From the outside, it looks like they have a lot of community interest, but it also looks a bit pump and dumpy. Also, Vitalik brought up a great question...

I'm taking the wait & see approach to claiming any fork shitcoins. It would be super easy for a bad actor to create a Bitcoin fork with the sole purpose of doxxing people and their holdings, if not outright steal them.
