I read about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency a lot, I have bought my first Bitcoin in 2010 :)
And I have learned a few thinks about Bitcoin:
1. Read about bitcoin you don't need to understand all, but a few basics will always help you.
2. Be always in control of your private keys, online services are great, but you don't know what they are doing with your money if they have your private key.
3. Always backup your wallet.
4. Keep your private key secret.
5. Some alt coins are a great investment so if you have some money inform yourself and if you found something what is interesting invest in it. Diversification is the key, never invest only in one thing split your money and invest in many things
6. For me Bitcoin is a long term Investment, I see a great future in bitcoin, especially now, that more and more big players are investing (just look at R3) and doing research in the "blockchain" field. For me, Bitcoin and a few other altcoins are totally below the value they should have.
7. If you want to mine, look for some new and "fancy" altcoins, I think mining bitcoins is too expensive and you are probably too late for it too make good profit.
8. The bitcoin reddit is nice to get the some news about Bitcoin.
