It is always best to divrsify. Buy both :)
But for durability, Gold should win that point. If you keep your bitcoin in your phone, would you be able to get 10 years from now ?

I agree with your assessment that the smart investor should own both gold (and silver) and cryptos like bitcoin (and others). I buy my physical gold and silver from OWNx. They recently mentioned on their website that they are considering expanding into cryptos. That would make for a nice one stop shop to be protected from fiat currencies.
