Deputy Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region Vladimir Petrov sent an appeal to the Central Bank and the Skolkovo Innovation Complex with a proposal to create a domestic analogue of the virtual currency, according to his press service.

"Over the past two years, the world economy has undergone major changes: the Crypto-currencies, which initially looked like a curiosity, took their place in the financial system and became so popular that even ordinary people, far from financial markets and exchange trades, began using the Crypto currency in Everyday use, "- said in an appeal, which is quoted by the press service of the parliamentarian.

Petrov draws attention to the fact that the Russian legislation does not establish a clear status of the crypto currency. "There is a ban on the issue of money surrogates in Russia, but responsibility for such actions is not established. This position causes duality of perception: on the one hand - the position of the domestic financial regulator, on the one hand, and on the other - the legal uncertainty of the subject," he notes.

According to the deputy, the Central Bank could become a developer of the legal status of Russian crypto currency, and the Skolkovo center is able to provide this currency with computational and algorithmic capacities.
"As soon as the gold exchange was replaced by paper banknotes, the virtual crypto-currencies are replacing our usual money." It is necessary that our country keep up with the financial progress and create a decent infrastructure for the appearance of the Russian bitkoy, "the document says.
