Alterverse is promoting its upcoming release by adding in-game items to a blockchain-powered version of Minecraft. Gamers who play EnjinCraft will be able to find three different weapons while digging into the game world. After finding these non-fungible tokens, player's also own them. As a result gamers can use these found items inside Alterverse.
It's an unique take on game marketing. Game developers often promote their games through magazines, websites and video advertisement. Bigger marketing campaigns might allow for in-game events, like the promotion of The Avengers movie in Fortnite. But thanks to blockchain technology developers can add a new layer of immersion, because an in-game item might motivate a player even more to give a game a try.
Alterverse is a game in which players can create their own realms and gameplay rules. Alterverse Disruption is the first game in the Alterverse multiverse. This game is basically a space ship battle game, each space ship is a player-owned tokenized game server. Developer Alterverse Inc. plans to release a new game in the Alterverse universe every 2 to 3 months.
The pre-alpha release of Alterverse Disruption will happen by the end of October. Gamers can find the game currently on Steam, and add it to their wishlist.
Customizable owned items on Enjin blockchain
Both EnjinCraft and Alterverse are build on Enjin. This is a blockchain project that's all about registering ownership over digital in-game items to people. The blockchain allows for easy and speedy transactions. Assets can be sold on a newly released marketplace for Enjin-based non-fungible tokens.
Generally gamers can't change the looks of in-game assets. But Alterverse Inc. has created a piece of software that allows players to change the colors of in-game items, like skins and even space ships. Of course they can only change items they actually own. For example, this will allow server owners to give high ranked players a certain outfit.
