Knight Story sees growth in volume and users

Mobile blockchain role playing game Knight Story is gaining attention since it launched late last year, causing significant growth in the user base and trading volume. Knight Story has been attracting a growing number of users per day, while the trading volume is going up as well. The idle battle role playing game currently attracts 725 users per day, with a trading volume over 5500 dollars per week.

In Knight Story players need to make their knights stronger to defeat waves of enemies. Since this week the game also introduced a boss mechanic, in which players need to help each other to defeat a very strong enemy. Not all items are on the blockchain. Players can move items to the blockchain by buying and using a special token.

This way the developers also make some money from the items offered on public marketplaces, like OpenSea. Each of these items have been tokenized using a MyKI ticket. These cost somewhere between 0.29 and 0.36 EUR. I'm currently selling a decent Titanium set for the archer character. (In case you're interested)

Growth path

On OpenSea there are currently 3790 token holders, selling almost 19 thousand items. The average item sells for 0.04 ETH, which would be approximately 6 dollars. Every day more than one thousand items are being sold on Opensea.

At the same time the Google Play Store signals there are over five thousand installs of the game, and then we're not even counting downloads through the iOS App Store. Even within the current install base there's room for growth.

Knight Story has seen a steady growth in the new year. Its daily audience increased from four hundred to over seven hundred players. A new boss mechanic has players coming back for more, while the team has plans to introduce more enemies, player characters and bosses in upcoming updates.

EOS Knights origins

Knight Story is basically an enhanced port of the EOS-based blockchain game EOS Knights. In this game loot drops from enemies which are the resources to create armor and weapons. These items can in turn be upgraded and ultimately tokenized and sold on the marketplace.

Biscuit Labs is also supposed to bring the game to the Tron blockchain. In October the developer and the Tron Foundation announced a partnership. Biscuit Labs received an undisclosed amount of money to bring the game to the Tron blockchain. When this will happen and whether it will happen within the same game is not yet known.
