As the Bitcoin keep soaring high, incidents of sophisticated Trojan is increasing. Cryptoshuffler is the latest Trojan which managed to steal Bitcoins worth $150,000.
How Cryptoshuffler works?
It uses a very simple approach. It comes into play only when a user is pasting the destination wallet address to send bitcoins. Cryptoshuffler replaces the wallet address with the address of the malware creator. If the user does not validate the wallet address then the bitcoin ends up in the malware creator's account. Since bitcoin transactions are irreversible, there is nothing one can do to reverse it.
Approach used by cryptoshuffler is a old school approach but still was successful in stealing the money. You must be very careful while installing any software. Even the well known software like 'Ccleaner' was affected by a malware which came into light few months back. So always ensure that your antivirus is updated and firewall is in place because it is not worth the risk.
