This concept has always applied to everything.

The same answer is this: There's no white or black, good or evil, everything is grey.

Also, regulation is a process.

  1. Demonize
  2. Buy it
  3. Regulate it

So just be on the lookout :p

I pray the government gets to understand that the cryptoworld is coming to take over.
Great post

slowly, but surely. there are alot of people working on educating regulators and policy-makers, as well as government programs learning about blockchain and supporting different innovations and incubators. some countries are faster/slower than others, though for the most part, it's a force that cannot be stopped and it seems governments are trying to figure out how to embrace and support innovation in the ecosystem rather than slow it down...

If only all countries would welcome cryptocurrencies, that would be so good. But on the bright side we are seeing a lot of acceptance/regulation, even if a few bans are getting a lot of airtime in the media.

For most of the world, it's business as usual. As long as you pay taxes on your cryptocurrency, there's nothing to be afraid of IMO.

regarding taxes on crypto... have you heard any "official" info lately on how exactly that's supposed to work?

word was a while back that we're only really liable to pay tax on anything that we convert from crypto to fiat at that point of conversion. though I've also heard that we may potentially be liable for any Steemit rewards at the time they're earned, considered as income, and/or capital gains on overall portfolio, regardless of whether it's converted to fiat or not...

I don't think there are any official statements on steem. I do know that the IRS has issued some basic rules for bitcoin in America.

thank you for this information bro

Vietnam has surprised me with this kind of attitude towards this new tech despite of their rapid development these years.

it'll be interesting to see how their position changes over the coming years. wouldn't be too surprising if they back-pedalled once the adoption rate worldwide hits a certain threshold.

Excellent! Thank you!

I have not read this news before, thank you for sharing it. I do not support the behavior of the Vietnamese government, then those heavy penalties ??? I do not find it absolutely right. In my own country, Italy, we are backlog with the cryptocurrency, but they seem to see it well for the moment. I remember one day I was talking 2 hours with my bank manager on btc.
