Music to Motivate, Educate and Inspire

We are entering into a new era for artists and music is no exception. Like any cultural shift, there is always going to be music that is made about the shift. Right now, the whole concept of the blockchain is new to people out there and while Bitcoin has been around for years, most of us are just getting hip to the idea that it can be a viable alternative. Of course, those of us on here writing get it, some longer than others, there is still this disconnect that doesn't understand what this whole thing is about. So, to start... I wanted to share a few songs I have found that help to explain things a bit better.

Fate of the INTERNET - Feat. Dan Bull (RAP NEWS 35)

Since joining Steem, I have had people ask me so many times about how I get paid. I try to explain it to them but in many ways it reminds me of when I was first a freelancer and I was getting paid online through Paypal. People didn't get it then. It was 2003 and when I told my mother that I got a new job and explained that the client was in England and they would pay me online she warned me of the dangers of the internet and how I can't trust technology. I am finding even more resistance in understanding to cryptocurrency.

The truth is, I was resistant myself at first.

It's BITCOIN, Baby!

Then about 2 and a half years ago, Paypal slowly turned into bastards. Well, I guess they were the whole time but since I had a card and had been doing business on the same account with them since the early 2000's I had always got excellent service. Then, one day they just didn't seem to care. Policies changed, they started acting like a bank and I got more overseas people so their outsourcing became blatantly apparent. I, for one, am thrilled that I found other options but even I am still learning.

Music and the Blockchain

As I have been researching, I have found a lot of information about artists and the music industry. I remember a few years ago, I found an article that talked about how the blockchain was going to revolutionize the music industry and I won't lie, I thought the same thing that other people did. People would comment and say things like even though you could sell on the open market no one was going to buy. A deregulated way to purchase seemed far fetched and while the concept of being able to be paid what you were worth was great, it didn't matter if people didn't know how to buy or what the options were. The more that this platform propels into a viable online option for the masses to communicate the better off we will all be. This new realization sent me out to research.

What I found was pretty awesome. I will let it do it's own explaining. Hopefully, these songs will help you, like they have me, to explain the blockchain concept to those that still don't understand what you're doing on Steem or with your "clandestine" cryptocurrency (as my mother likes to call it).

With that in mind, I wanted to share a few other songs that I have found on the search. They consist of mainly Bitcoin centered songs, but considering where things started, I think that is probably to be expected.

Enjoy :) If you have any favorites, feel free to share.

Crypto Rap (Short Playlist)

Here are a few of the more rap oriented songs.

Toby + Decap - Welcome To The Blockchain (The Bitcoin Song)

This was the first song I found, a rap by Toby + Decap. It didn't look like much on YouTube, but then I heard it. I was more than pleased with the song.

Price Down, Pick Up by ZhouTonged

PUMP AND DUMP by BLOCKCHAINZ

And finally, sexy little song. A bit of a different direction.... away from the rap.

I really like this! That Pump and Dump song is hilarious. "To the moon, to the moon I say" hahaha, "We pump and dump and pump and dump"

I can relate to your story. There is definitely resistance. I wrote for a website called Textbroker for awhile and was paid through Paypal. I never had any problems with them, but I much prefer this platform. I've heard of other people who are having negative experiences with them.

Some of my friends thought it was "fake money." Until they see how well I've been doing the last few months lol . . now some of them want me to invest for them. But what I do instead, is give them all the facts at their disposal so they can make the decisions for themselves. A few are now on there way to becoming small time crypto investors . . and it's wonderful.

The learning curve is still pretty high. People who aren't that tech savvy still have real trouble wrapping their heads around the concept of a "virtual money." But we're making great strides at getting more mainstream adoption. Blockchain tech is starting to change the world!

I have to say, I wish that I had been paying more attention earlier. There is no reason that I wasn't. I just, I don't know... life? I think that since I was on the curve with Paypal and pretty reliant since almost all of my clients pay on there, that I didn't want to change to another platform and have to explain to people how the internet works. I wasn't paying attention when the markets changed and so when Paypal started being weird and acting like a bank, I didn't know why. When I changed my name to a business name, they gave me such a hassle. Normally, I have no problems with them but it was sort of an eye opening experience. I ended up having to get a new paypal account and voila! I now get treated like someone that just started with them, another number. I swear, being there for as long as I did, even when I had an issue it was a definite treatment from customer service. I feel kind of daft right now. LOL Guess it is good I am figuring it out. There were a lot more songs around as well. I was thinking I'll just keep adding the as I go.

Great article. Wish Rap News was still around!
