Many of the Alt coins have made recent moves up with Bitcoin finally settling down in volatility. Ripple has been the recent monster climbing up to overtake Bitcoin Cash in Market value. So Ripple's XRP is back in 3rd place for Market Cap. With many of the Alts that recently went up now cooling down, it is now leaving room for some of the other coins like Bitshares.
Bitshares is up over 5%+ and looking to go up higher. Korea is yet to wake up fully, so we will see what happens in the next few hours which coin gets the next massive move to the upside. Bitshares is in a good position to do that next, so we'll see.

I'd be careful with jumping to conclusions by comparing exchange volume. CHBTC for example has a very low maker fee of 0.04% flat, whereas bittrex takes 0.25% -> you can do 6 times more trades for the same fee at CHBTC and generate 6 times the volume.
