Not that I want to get into some pissing match but I will say a few things in response to both of your comments

Perhaps we would not have to be so concerned with upvote/downvote bullshit if Steemit actually functioned as a content based meritocracy rather than a captial (Steempower) based oligarchy where self promotion and voting bot techniques trump all. The funny thing is all of our Steempower could be worth so much more if this site actually attracted the masses with merit based rewards.

It's remarkable how much of a reaction I have caused here with my tiny $0.30 down-vote.

you don't want to get into a pissing contest but you downvote me 100%... merit based rewards don't exist, how would you curate for such a model? Steempower is the only way to do it.

Here is an upvote for your time and response. We can likely all agree that discussion is preferable to argument. Your question about curation is a good one. I don't claim to have all the answers but I have trouble believing that Steemit as it currently functions is optimal or even desirable.

This war of flags is absurd if people are happy putting memes and spending $ 100 on bidbots so that their publication is in perfect trend they are already losing money. In the same way, your loss will be greater since the votes purchased are giving an incredible loss.

A strange state of things indeed.
