Techblogger Commentary: Bitcoin or Vegas?

Is Bitcoin better than a trip to Vegas? I would have to say with complete certainty, YES.

In a recent article published by CNBC entitled 'Tony Robbins says investing in bitcoin is 'like going to Vegas' its author made several points I strongly disagree with.

Watching the price of digital currency bitcoin is a roller coaster ride: It has surged more than five times in price this year to a record just above $5,000 in early September, but in two weeks crashed by $2,000. By Thursday morning, bitcoin was trading above $4,000, up more than 300 percent for the year, according to CoinDesk.

Ok Tony, you have a point regarding volatility but what about all the early adopters? People have been investing and holding Bitcoin for years. Would they really have had better odds at Vegas? Considering many early adopters are now multimillionaires I'd have to say that you are off base on this one buddy.

So Tony Robbins isn't sold on the idea yet.

"I think [bitcoin] is very iffy," Robbins tells CNBC's "Fast Money" Wednesday, speaking from the Iconic conference presented by Inc. and CNBC. "I don't have a clue. I look at that as it's like going to Vegas."

I'm a bit tired trying to educate the uneducated masses who don't have a clue about what the future holds but here goes... Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, the first of its kind. It is a finite asset that can be compared to digital gold. As fiat money continues to be printed without accountability or transparancy, we simply have to look at the blockchain to see how many Bitcoins have been minted, how many more are to be minted and at what rate they are being minted. There can be only 21 million. Tony you don't have a clue, let me know if this clue is big enough for you.
