BATCoin and No, it has nothing to do with Batman
Intro
BAT(Basic Attention Token) Coin is looking to change the way digital publishers, users and advertisers interact with each other and basically returns some power and control over ads and content back to the user! that that while keeping Advertisers and Publishers also happy. BAT is based on Blockchain Tech and is built on the Ethereum Platform.
Basic Attention Token radically improves the efficiency of digital advertising by creating a new token that can be exchanged between publishers, advertisers, and users. It all happens on the Ethereum blockchain. The token can be used to obtain a variety of advertising and attention-based services on the Brave platform. The utility of the token is based on user attention, which simply means a person’s focused mental engagement.
BAT intends to be the primary rewards method for advertisers, publishers and users. OK, I know what you are thinking " Yay... yet another alt coin". Well, like you, i didn't find anything remarkable about BAT as a stand alone Alt. However When combine with BAM( Basic Attention Metrics) and Brave(A New Platform still under development), BAT Becomes a badass robot called BRAVAT-TRON! sent to stop BigData Corp(Google, Facebook and Co.) from profiting heavily on user data and give users total control over their data.
No it doesn't!
Ok, so maybe it doesn't transform into a robot but it does present an interesting solution to the problem of User privacy, fake/scam ads, targeted ads and poor publisher compensation models.

Sooo.... What's BAM and Brave?
Great question! really quick
BAM: Basic Attention Metrics is a program within the Brave Browser that anonymously measures the users attention.
Brave : Is a new browser developed by the same guy that created JavaScript. Brave measures the attention of a user. this info is anonymous and never leaves your physical device. Because the code is open source, anyone can read it to make sure it does what the creators say it does.
How does it work mehn...?
I'm glad you asked. lets break it down to its bare essentials
Users: Get rewarded when they pay attention to content and ads with BATs. The BATs can be used to
- Buy premium content
- Support content and publishers they like
- Hoarding if that's your thing
Publishers: Get rewarded with BATs when they create content users like. They also get
- Most of the proceeds from ad revenue
- Donations from adoring Users who love the content
- Rich$$$
Advertisers: Get rewarded with a better audience for their products while having no need for users personal data. they also get
- Customers that are more likely to buy whatever they are selling
- Reduced ad rates
- No DataCorp Fees
- Stupid Rich$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Sounds Great, But how do i know my personal info isn't being collected?
Well, According the the BAT website
More Privacy, Less Fraud
Users’ privacy is protected through the use of the ANONIZE algorithm. And ad fraud will be prevented or reduced by publication of source code and cryptographically secure transactions.
AND
Ads are then anonymously matched with customer interests using local machine learning algorithms. This means less irrelevant ads.
DUDE! How do i get Brave?
