Bitcoin on the NY Stock Exchange?

According to a post on Coindesk, a company called SolidX has filed with the SEC to launch an exchange traded fund (ETF), exposing bitcoin to the market.

Look for the XBTC symbol on the NYSE ticker to know that it took place. I would personally love to see more exposure, especially in the stock markets because it can only mean the foothold of cryptocurrency is strengthening, which would mean increased value for the already popular bitcoin.

On a side note, will owning shares of bitcoin be better than buying investments directly? For a volatile market, time will tell. Plus, will adding bitcoin (XBTC) to the NYSE mean implementing regulations that were never intended, and would it even be possible to regulate a decentralized currency?

The good, bad and ugly are all products of a progressive world, regardless of the intent.
